Annual fall space and furniture asset audits begin late September
Facilities Management and Development and the University Planning Office are continuing to conduct annual space audits to collect data about facilities across the Toronto campus. The fall audit will also include an assessment of furniture assets in leased spaces.
The audits inform a variety of operational and service-planning activities carried out by the university and fulfills our requirement to contribute to the Council of Ontario Universities’ triennial survey of universities’ physical resources.
The fall 2026 audits will cover a wide variety of spaces including classrooms, labs, office areas and suites.
How this may impact you
Auditors will enter indoor spaces across campus at varied intervals during the fall term, from late September to mid-November.
The fall space audit will include a visual walk-through of each space conducted by student employees. They will be easily identifiable and will carry a TMU lanyard and identification.
In addition, this year, a fall furniture asset audit will be completed and surveyors will enter offices and common areas in leased spaces to identify, tag and photograph furniture assets. This audit advances our sustainability and circularity efforts by creating an inventory of existing furniture assets, helping us save money and resources through reuse and repurposing across campus. The surveyors are not TMU staff, but will be identifiable by their company uniforms and they will carry identification.
Auditors and surveyors will make every effort to avoid disrupting activities taking place as they move through the buildings.
