Refurbishment to HVAC systems in LIB to begin May 25, resulting in temporary space closures
To: Departments with space in LIB
Cc: Facilities Management and Development
Facilities Management and Development (“Facilities”) is overseeing the refurbishment of air terminals throughout all floors of the Library Building (LIB) to improve thermal comfort, air quality and energy efficiency throughout the building.
The work is scheduled to begin May 25, 2026 and will continue until January 31, 2027. During the work, Facilities will close one floor of LIB at a time during regular business hours and employees will be asked to work with their leaders to arrange to work from home or from another on-campus space. Building occupants will be contacted once floor closure schedules have been confirmed. Work on the lower ground floor and LIB-72 will be performed outside of regular business hours.
How this may impact you
Building occupants may experience construction noise and dust during the refurbishment process. Contractors may need to temporarily move furniture to complete the work and will be covering furniture, desks and computer monitors to protect them from dust and debris and will be vacuuming when work is complete in each space. They will make every effort to minimize the negative impact of their work on building occupants.
