KHE and KHS roof replacement project begins today
To: Departments with space in KHE and KHS
Cc: Facilities Management and Development
Facilities Management and Development (“Facilities”) is overseeing a roof renewal project to replace and upgrade the Kerr Hall East (KHE) and Kerr Hall South (KHS) roofs as they have reached the end of their life cycle.
The work is scheduled to begin today, Tuesday, May 19, 2026 and is expected to be completed Thursday, August 20, 2026 (subject to weather conditions).
Contractors will be present on the KHE and KHS roofs to replace the roofing daily, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
How this may impact you
During the work, air intakes to both buildings will be temporarily disabled to prevent non-toxic odours from the work circulating throughout the buildings. However, building occupants on the second and third floors of KHE and KHS, as well as those in KHE-321A, KHE-321B and KHE-321C, may temporarily experience increased odours, noise and decreased air circulation during the work.
The contractors will make every effort to minimize the negative impact of their work.
