Brief power disruptions in JOR/POD early mornings Apr. 15-17

April 07, 2026

Facilities Management and Development is overseeing testing of cables and substation relays for the service infrastructure that provides power to Jorgenson Hall (JOR) and portions of the Podium (POD).

The testing requires brief power disruptions that are scheduled to take place at 6 a.m. daily from Wednesday, April 15 through Friday, April 17. The disruptions are expected to be of less than ten seconds in duration.

How this may impact you

If you are in JOR or POD during the testing, building lighting and all electrical equipment will experience a brief power blip that will affect lighting, elevators and all electrical equipment.

If you are aware of activities taking place early in the morning during the testing period, please advise impacted individuals that this brief disruption will occur.

Building occupants should shut off power to all sensitive equipment when they leave at the end of the day April 14-16.
