BON fire alarm upgrades starting Mon., Apr. 20 and continuing through fall

April 17, 2026

Facilities Management and Development (“Facilities”) is upgrading the existing fire alarm system in 111 Bond St. (BON) and emergency-exit signage. The work will include installing new cables, devices and fire-alarm panel, then decommissioning and removing the existing system.

The work is scheduled to take place overnight between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. starting Monday, April 20. The expected completion is late fall.

How this may impact you

Contractors will be entering all spaces and cordoning off localized areas as they install and remove conduit and devices, but access restrictions will be minimal.

Some local noise disruptions from hammering and drilling will occur intermittently and there will be minor dust and debris in areas closest to the work.

Beginning in June 2026, there will be intermittent noise disruptions as some alarm systems and devices are tested.

To minimize the impact on building occupants, the work has been scheduled to be completed outside of regular operating hours.

Contractors will make every effort to minimize the negative impact of their work and will ensure that furniture and equipment is protected from dust.
