ARC unplanned hot water outage

Hot water is temporarily out of service on all floors of the Architecture Building (ARC) due to repairs required to the hot water tank.

This is an unplanned shutdown. Facilities Management and Development (“Facilities”)  staff are overseeing repairs and the work is expected to take one week.

How this may impact you

There will be no hot water in ARC during the outage. Cold water in washrooms, fountains, sinks and other plumbing will not be affected and will continue to function normally. 

Steam for heat remains in service. 

Once hot water service is restored, there may be intermittent fluctuations in pressure and flow rate as the system stabilizes and some brief discolouration of water caused by mineral deposits. 

The fire suppression system (sprinklers) are not affected by this outage.
