Update: Contractors will be conducting additional hoisting activities from Nelson Mandela Walk to the second floor of the Podium (POD) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. For public safety, access will be restricted along Nelson Mandela Walk and the POD terraces, between the entrance to Jorgenson Hall (JOR) and the Kerr Hall West (KHW) central accessible entrance, while hoisting takes place.
Access to the main entrance of JOR and both accessibility ramps to KHW will be maintained.
For your safety, please follow the directions of the signage in the area and the instructions of the construction crew.

March 4, 2026

Update: Contractors working on the 2nd floor POD renovations will be occupying Nelson Mandela Walk near the Jorgenson Hall (JOR) main entrance to deliver construction materials by truck on Tuesday, February 10 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Access to the main entrance of JOR and the accessibility ramps will be maintained for the duration of the work, but there will be increased activity while materials are unloaded. For your safety, please follow the directions of the signage in the area and the instructions of the construction crew.

January 30, 2026
Contractors are levelling the floor in POD-252, a room neighbouring the Commons Conference Room (POD-250). To complete this work a partial access restriction will be required at the north end of Nelson Mandela Walk from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 31 to accommodate a cement truck.
How this may impact you
The cement truck and hoses will be occupying a portion of Nelson Mandela Walk, but access will be maintained along the pedestrianized zone.
Access to the main entrance of JOR and the accessibility ramps will be maintained for the duration of the work.
For your safety, please follow the directions of the signage in the area and the instructions of the construction crew. There may be some temporary noise in areas nearest the construction. The construction crew will make every effort to minimize the negative impact of their work.
