Dundas St. and Bond St. construction fencing and upcoming access restrictions

As previously shared, TMU is set to open a new 21-storey student residence on Bond Street and Dundas Street East that is targeted for completion in 2030. The university is partnering in the redevelopment of the site with Cedar Podium (CP). CP has begun erecting fencing around the properties to secure them in advance of future construction activities.

The erection of fencing, scaffolding for overhead protection and construction hoarding will be implemented in a phased approach that began the week of December 1, 2025, with fencing surrounding the site at Dundas St. and Bond St., as well as the lot at 38 Dundas St. East.

How this may impact you

There is no parking behind the Victoria Building (VIC) and the restrictions will be strictly enforced. Bicycle parking in the laneways and on the west side of Bond St. will be removed for the duration of the work.

In coming weeks, a gate may be installed to restrict access to the Victoria Street Laneway, behind the Victoria Street Building (VIC) and the neighbouring 277 Victoria St. (VCT). Street parking may be reduced on Bond St. and there will be no parking in front of 112-114 Bond St.

Sidewalk access will be maintained along Dundas St., but there will be sidewalk restrictions on the west side of Bond St. in the new year. Further details will be added in updates to this service alert as the project moves forward and more information becomes available.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout the work.
