Changes to overnight cleaning schedule in offices

As a result of increased costs associated with TMU’s external cleaning vendor, Facilities Management and Development (“Facilities”) is implementing changes to TMU’s services and schedules. 

Private office cleaning schedule shifting to monthly

The overnight cleaning schedule in private offices will change from weekly to monthly to ensure we stay within our budget allocation for cleaning. The change targets lower traffic spaces and allows us to maintain the current cleaning frequency in open workstation areas which have more activity. 

Shared, public, and high-use areas (e.g. corridors, washrooms, meeting rooms, reception areas) will continue to receive daily service.

The change will come into effect on Monday, January 5, 2026

Contact the Facilities Help Desk for immediate needs 

The day and afternoon cleaning team will continue to respond to immediate custodial needs during our buildings’ regular operational hours, including spills and accidents, spot-cleaning, trash and debris removal.

If you see something that needs attention, please contact the Facilities Help Desk (“Fixit”) or complete a  (google form) cleaning request (external link)  for prompt service. Your service requests and reports help us continuously maintain a clean, hygienic and good-working environment and infrastructure.
