Update: Bond St. and Gould St. intersection closure the morning of Feb. 27
Update: The City of Toronto will be conducting camera scoping of the new sewer connection for the Nadir Mohamed Centre for Student Wellbeing to municipal services. Bond St. will be closed from the laneway adjacent to the south face of the Heidelberg Centre (HEI) to Gould Street from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) tomorrow, February 27.
Sidewalk access to HEI and will remain available to pedestrians.

February 12, 2026

Update: The City and contractors will be connecting utilities resulting in the closure of Bond St. at Gould St. from the morning of Thursday, February 12 to midday Saturday, February 14. The daily start and completion times are dependent on weather and site conditions.
Access to the Heidelberg Centre (HEI) will be maintained for pedestrians.

February 3, 2026
Update: Due to inclement weather impacting the construction site, the crane erection has been rescheduled to this weekend: Saturday, February 7 to Sunday, February 8. The daily start and completion times are dependent on weather and site conditions.
Gould St. from Bond St. to Church St. will be closed to vehicular traffic during the work. Pedestrian access to the Heidelberg Centre (HEI) and the Student Campus Centre (SCC) will be maintained.
For your safety, please follow the directions of the signage in the area and the instructions of the construction crew.

January 23, 2026
Update: The contractor has advised that in addition to the road closures previously outlined, an additional closure on Bond St (outlined as “Closure #1” below) will be required throughout the next week from January 26 to January 30.
The specific closures date and time is dependent on weather and community members are asked to exercise caution in the impacted areas and follow the guidance of construction personnel and any signage in the area.

January 19, 2026
As previously communicated, two short-term closures of Bond St. at Gould St. are required to connect a new sewer line and erect a crane for the construction of the new Nadir Mohamed Centre for Student Wellbeing.
Due to heavy snowfall impacting the construction site, both closures have been rescheduled. The first closure will now take place Thursday, January 22 to Saturday, January 24 and the second closure Friday, January 30 to Sunday, February 1.

January 15, 2026
Update: Due to inclement weather, the first closure has been rescheduled for Friday, January 16 with an expected completion date of Sunday, January 18. The contractor will make every effort to minimize any impact if work extends to Sunday morning.

January 12, 2026
Facilities Management and Development is overseeing the construction of the new Nadir Mohamed Centre for Student Wellbeing at O’Keefe House and its adjacent space by the Heidelberg Centre (HEI). The work will require two short-term closures of Bond St. by the intersection of Gould St. to facilitate the connection of a new sewer line to the building and to erect a crane at the site.
For public safety, there will be two short-term road closures affecting the intersection of Bond Street and Gould Street from January 15 - 17 and again from January 23 - 25.

How this may impact you
Rescheduled Closure #1 – January 22 to January 24
Bond St. will be closed from the laneway adjacent to the south face of HEI to Gould Street. Sidewalk access to the HEI and Image Arts (IMA) building entrances will remain available to pedestrians.
The daily start and completion times are dependent on weather and site conditions as the excavation and sewer connection are completed.
Rescheduled Closure #2 – January 30 to Sunday, February 1
Gould Street and a portion of the southern Gould Street sidewalk will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from Bond Street to Church Street.
Bond Street and its eastern sidewalk will be closed to pedestrian traffic north of HEI.
Sidewalks will be maintained for pedestrians on the north side of Gould Street and the west side of Bond Street by the Image Arts (IMA) building.
Access to the main entrance of the Student Campus Centre (SCC) will be maintained from Gould Street.
The start and completion times are dependent on weather and site conditions as the crane is erected.
For your safety, please follow the directions of the signage in the area and the instructions of the construction crew.
There may be some temporary noise, odor, dust and debris near the construction areas. The construction crew will make every effort to minimize the negative impact of their work.
