JOR HVAC work beginning late October

October 21, 2024

Facilities Management and Development (“Facilities”) is overseeing the replacement of the central heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit in Jorgenson Hall (JOR). This work is necessary to replace components that have reached the end of their life cycles and to improve the efficiency of the air handling system.

Phase one of the work is expected to begin late-October and will continue into 2025 and will take place primarily on the roof between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.

How this may impact you

This phase of the project will require the demolition of the current air fan ducts on the JOR roof mechanical penthouse. As a result, there will be some intermittent noise disruptions affecting the 14th floor of JOR, in areas closest to the construction work above.

Mitigation measures will be in place to limit noise/odour impacts to building occupants.

The contractor will make every effort to minimize the negative impact of their work and the Facilities project team will coordinate with building occupants to work around the operations in the impacted areas.
