Kerr Hall roof revitalization begins this month
Facilities Management and Development (“Facilities”) is set to begin an eight-week roof renewal project for Kerr Hall. The project will replace the roof of the northwest section of Kerr Hall, a small section of Kerr Hall West and on either side of the clock tower above the southern archways
This work will replace roofing materials that have reached the end of their service life and replace it with new materials to improve the roof membrane’s performance and impermeability.
The work is expected to begin in early- to mid-October and will last approximately eight weeks, depending on weather conditions.
How this may impact you
There may be minor noise disruptions on upper floors of the northwest section Kerr Hall and the sections over the southern archways nearest the work, particularly during first-phase removal of the existing roof materials. Some odors may be noticeable during the installation of the new roofing materials in the latter half of the project. Facilities personnel will make adjustments to air intake to minimize the disruption.
A small portion of the Kerr Hall Quad will be restricted to accommodate the ground-level storage of materials.
