Realize your future with TMU Graduate Studies
Professional passion meets real-world opportunities
Jacky Au Duong, Master of Professional Communication
As a Master of Professional Communication student, Jacky Au Duong’s connections with faculty, staff, and community and industry partners helped him gain real-world experience and build his portfolio. Now, as a Toronto Mety alumnus and employee, he’s making those connections for tomorrow’s professionals.
While a master’s student, Jacky was the communication and digital strategist for hitchBOT, the travelling robot – co-created by TMU Professor Frauke Zeller and McMaster Professor David Harris Smith – that made international headlines for hitchhiking its way across Canada. By showcasing hitchBOT online and at science exhibits and fairs, Jacky’s team sparked the imaginations of youth, parents, educators and fans around the world.
Jacky now applies these skills at TMU’s Centre for Communicating Knowledge. Here, he leads a team of students in providing strategic guidance and creative services to help faculty members share their research in engaging ways such as websites, events and social media.
Toronto Met's cutting-edge graduate programs offer endless opportunities to gain real-world experience and connect with the community and industry at large – just like Jacky.
At TMU, we connect students with the right people, the right training and the right resources to realize their full potential.
