Significant Dates
The academic year consists of three terms: fall, winter and spring/summer. A graduate term normally consists of one 12-week session (“One session” below). Under special circumstances, a term may have two 6-week sessions with a different set of dates (“Two session” below).

Mid-Year Winter Break: TMU will close for business at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 23 December 2026, and reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, 7 January 2027.
Graduation & Convocation
Students in their final term of enrolment must apply to graduate by the applicable deadline. Your final term does not necessarily involve completing courses. You may be completing a thesis, dissertation, major research paper, or other outstanding program requirements.
Do not wait until all final requirements have been completed or final grades have been released to apply to graduate. Applications must be submitted by the specified deadline, well in advance of the Convocation ceremony.
