Realize your future with TMU Graduate Studies
Entrepreneurship meets accessibility
Maayan Ziv, Master of Digital Media
As someone who uses a wheelchair, Maayan Ziv was often unsure if city spaces would be accessible until she showed up at the entrance. Unable to find this valuable information anywhere, Maayan took matters into her own hands and developed an application called AccessNow (external link) . This groundbreaking web-based app uses crowdsourced information to pinpoint the accessibility status of hotels, restaurants, coffee shops and tourist destinations around the world on an interactive map.
Maayan brought her idea to life in Toronto Met's intensive 12-month Master of Digital Media program. Here she gained the skills, opportunities and industry connections needed to incubate and accelerate her project in the digital world. Since its launch, the app has garnered a community of followers and ignited discussion about accessibility and inclusivity for all.
At TMU, our graduate programs provide you with the freedom to engage your entrepreneurial spirit, challenge convention and find innovative solutions to the issues that matter most to you.
