Maximizing mobile networks
Richa Siddavaatam, Computer Science PhD candidate
As cell phones become more and more indispensable, Richa Siddavaatam is exploring how to make the most of the mobile networks we all share and depend on.
Her Computer Science PhD dissertation involves state-of-the-art wireless technologies such as mobile cloud computing, fog computing and future 5G systems. Through her research, she hopes to optimize usage of the limited bandwidth available to cell phone service providers, in order to better serve the ever-increasing demand for mobile data.
Siddavaatam’s innovative research was recognized with a Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology. In addition, she has authored numerous articles in renowned science journals and presented her work at conferences around the world.
As a graduate student, TA and mother of two young children, Siddavaatam has gained valuable experience in managing projects, time and people. “TMU Graduate Studies helped elevate me to be a better person, both professionally and personally,” says Siddavaatam.
At TMU, our cutting-edge learning environment enables graduate students to pursue their passion for research and innovation.
