Volunteer Day

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in our community? The TMU Leadership team invites you to participate in this semester's Volunteer Day!

Volunteer Day is an opportunity for TMU students and staff to give back to our community. Our goal is to create a positive impact in the local community while fostering a spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility at TMU. 

On Volunteer Day, TMU students and staff come together to lend a helping hand to a local charity or non-profit organization.  Share your skills, passion, and time to create a brighter tomorrow for those who most need it.

Join us for a day of compassion and community as we prove that small acts of kindness can make a difference. Be a part of something bigger than yourself - because together, we can change lives. Read more below.

Dates: November 25th, November 27th, November 28th
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Location: Good Shepherd Ministries, 412 Queen St E, Toronto, ON M5A 1T3

This year, we will be volunteering for Volunteer Day at Good Shepherd Ministries (external link) , an opportunity for TMU students and staff to make a meaningful impact in our community.

Additional Information:

• Each day will be supervised by a member of the SLLS staff.
  
• Only five volunteers are needed per day; sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis.
  
• Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the site.
  

There will be more Volunteer Days next semester, so stay tuned for future opportunities to get involved. Thank you for dedicating your time to supporting our community and helping strengthen the culture of service at TMU.

“The Good Shepherd” is well known on the streets of Toronto for its dedication to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship.

For some, it’s a place to receive a hot meal, clean clothes, and a safe bed for the night. For others, it’s a place to find kindness, understanding, and support during difficult times. No matter the reason someone seeks help, every person is treated with dignity, care, and respect.

Good Shepherd is a place that puts people first, especially the vulnerable, the invisible, and the homeless.

What’s Next?

1. Sign up and attend Volunteer Day!
2. Visit https://tmulevelup.thinkific.com/ (external link)  to create an account with your TMU email address (or sign in if you already have one).
3. Select and enroll in the "Active Citizenship" course.
4. Complete the course materials in just 30 minutes.
5. Upload your Active Citizenship badge to your LinkedIn profile!
