Academic Edge
Join a community of first-year students to build on your academic skills and experiences, find university resources uniquely useful to you, develop critical learning strategies and study skills, and set yourself up for academic success!
How it Works
Through weekly in-person sessions, students share their experiences and learn skills to help them learn effectively from lectures and readings, manage their time, set meaningful goals, and walk confidently into midterms and exams.
All first-year students are encouraged to register and get an edge on their studies!
Free breakfast snacks will be provided!

Equity-Deserving Group - Student Consultation Sessions
Are you a student from an equity-deserving group (e.g. Indigenous students, people of colour, students with disabilities, first-generation students, low-income students, Black students, and 2SLGBTQ+ students among many others others)? Help Learning Support produce a new virtual resource to support first year students in their academic transition to university!
To make sure this eLearning tool meets the needs of students and others from equity-deserving groups we will be hosting a series of consultation sessions with TMU students during the Fall 2022 semester.
If you’re interested in participating in this process, (google form) please complete this form (external link) . Ten randomly selected students will be contacted in late September about meeting dates in Fall 2022.
Participants in this consultation process will receive a $20 Onecard top up.
If you have questions or any accessibility requirements to support your participation, please contact meera.govindasamy@torontomu.ca
