Dr. Niaz Ahmad is a postdoctoral research fellow in the TMU CVIS Lab, whose work addresses key challenges in real-time AI systems, including autonomous vehicles, robotics, drones and smart home/city applications.

Research interests: primary focus is real-time AI systems, including machine learning, robotic scene understanding/sensing and multi-task learning. Specific areas of interest include human-pose estimation, 2D shape representation, 3D mesh reconstruction, action recognition, transfer learning and natural-language processing.

Academic background: PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the RAISE Lab at Hanyang University, an MS in Computer Science and Engineering from Hanyang University and an MSc in Computer Science from Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology, Islamabad
