Dr. Carolina Espinoza-Sanhueza is an architect and researcher whose work bridges building science, human well-being, and sustainable design. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher focusing on housing retrofits to improve indoor air quality in Northern Canada affected by wildfire events. Her broader research explores how to optimize building performance by balancing energy efficiency with environmental comfort and satisfaction, particularly in cold climates.

Dr. Espinoza-Sanhueza earned her PhD in Architecture from Laval University in Quebec City, Canada, where she investigated the role of nature, daylight, lighting, and colour design in architecture and their impact on vision, circadian rhythms, and affectivity in northern communities.

She is deeply interested in developing innovative methods for architectural education to evaluate the impact of the built environment on human's well-being.
