Black Graduate Student Bursary
The Black Graduate Student Awards are a suite of awards and bursaries established by the Yeates School of Graduate Studies to support Black students pursuing graduate studies at Toronto Met. These awards recognize excellence and/or alleviate some of the financial burden associated with graduate education.

The expendable funds will provide bursaries between $1,000 and $5,000, as funds allow annually. Funding for the award will be confirmed in March of each year and made available to eligible students in the fall. Results will be announced in mid-September.

To be eligible for this award, students must:
- Be registered as a part- or full-time student in a graduate degree program at Toronto Metropolitan University and have clear academic standing;
- Must apply for OSAP;
- Self-identify as Black;
- Demonstrate financial need.
This bursary may be held concurrently with all graduate award types.
- Demonstrate financial need, as determined by Toronto Metropolitan University, through submission of a (PDF file) Graduate Student Budget Form;
- A written statement (250-500 words) from the applicant that supports and/or clarifies their student budget form.
