Dr. Stanley Vasconcelos

Stanley was born and raised in Goias, Brazil. Having a passion for music since he was a child, he travelled around with his friends playing in bands. After moving to Sao Paulo, he completed his B.Sc at the Catholic University of Santos in 2006, pursuing his second passion, science. He defended his M.Sc in 2013 and his Ph.D in 2017 at the University of Sao Paulo under the supervision of Prof. Helio Stefani. In 2018, Stanley joined the Structural Genomics Consortium - SGC as a postdoctoral researcher. He has left his warm country behind to take up a postdoctoral position at Toronto Metropolitan University (previously Ryerson) in Toronto, Canada, where he is designing and synthesizing protein kinase inhibitors.
