The Creative School

Dr. Yukari Seko, recipient of the 2024 Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence, is an outstanding educator whose critically compassionate, research-informed pedagogy has transformed student learning at TMU. She integrates innovative approaches including specifications grading, flipped classrooms, arts-informed projects, and the Campus Accessibility Scavenger Hunt to foster empathy, reflection, and inclusive learning. Building on her CELT Teaching Fellowship, in 2024-25 she developed the university-wide Solution-Focused Graduate Supervision course, advancing evidence-based, ethical mentorship practices among faculty research supervisors.
