Richard Norman is a researcher, lecturer, and futurist affecting change towards a more socially just future. Richard’s research focuses on the deconstruction of dominance in sport. Using creative analytic practices (CAP), the research explores in intersection of race, "whiteness," and colonialism in relation to notions of diversity and its impacts on sport and sport cultures. This research employs methodological approaches that disrupt traditional forms and encourage the use of new ways of knowing and knowledge systems. The use of story and narrative forms honours traditions from First Peoples around the globe where oral traditions are key sources of learning and understanding. Richard's research is committed to finding approaches that can open up dialogue and discourses towards a more socially just and inclusive world. His research continues with the “Sport, Diversity, & Race Project” as a post-doctoral fellowship.
