Two-factor authentication provides an additional layer of security for your TMU account by requiring two verifications when logging into your account:

  • Something you know (your password); and
  • Something you have (your mobile phone or security key).

Why do we use two-factor?

Since two-factor requires something physical in your possession (your phone or security key), it can help prevent attackers from hijacking your account and getting to your data, even if they’ve stolen your password.
