Adding Your Biometics for Two-Factor Logins

With your help, TMU can minimize online threats.

You have the option of adding physical biometrics such as your fingerprint or facial recognition to verify your identity for two-factor logins. It is a feature that may be particularly helpful for those with disabilities affecting dexterity or motor functioning.

This page outlines instructions for setting up biometrics for your TMU account using the Windows Hello and Apple Touch ID biometrics systems.

How to set up biometrics for your TMU account

  1. Log in to the my.torontomu portal with your username and password.
  2. In the Self Service box, click Personal Account.
  3. Under the Security section, click Two-Factor Authentication.
  4. Find the Security keys and biometrics section and click the Add key or biometrics link.
  5. On this page, use the text box to enter a name for your biometric ID.

Be sure to select the radio button for On device keys (Windows Hello, Face ID, Touch ID, Biometrics) before clicking the Add key or biometrics button to proceed.
