New admission stream to the MBA program for LASL graduates announced at panel event
Graduates of the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University now have a new admission stream to the Ted Rogers MBA. The law and business schools jointly announced the new initiative at a November 24 event at Ted Rogers School of Management entitled “Law + Business: A Strategic Convergence.”
The new admission stream offers an unparalleled opportunity to seamlessly combine a strong foundation in law with advanced business acumen, preparing candidates for leadership roles at the intersection of law and management, Deans Donna Young (Lincoln Alexander School of Law) and Cynthia Holmes (Ted Rogers School of Management) said in announcing the new process. Graduates of the Lincoln Alexander Juris Doctor program are encouraged to send an email to mba@torontomu.ca to activate the streamlined process.
Students taking advantage of this opportunity will gain a powerful combination of a Juris Doctor (JD) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), highly valued in fields like corporate law, regulatory affairs, consulting and entrepreneurship.
The event also featured a panel discussion between Deans Young and Holmes and Mitch Frazer, Managing Partner of Mintz LLP. The discussion explored careers and strategic symmetries between the two professions, and opportunities for students from both disciplines to learn and collaborate. The moderated discussion dove deep into the real-world intersection of law and business, providing insights on high-stakes corporate decision-making, mergers and acquisitions, and how legal strategy drives organizational success.
