Ted Rogers School launches new Health Services Management major
Members of the Toronto Metropolitan University healthcare community gathered this week to celebrate the launch of Ted Rogers School of Management’s new Health Services Management (BComm (Hons)) degree.
Ted Rogers School Dean Cynthia Holmes, Dr. Pria Nippak (Chair, Health Services Management, Ted Rogers School), Dr. Teresa Chan (Dean, School of Medicine, TMU) and Roberta Iannacito-Provenzano (Provost and Vice-President, Academic, TMU) attended the event, held at the Ted Rogers School on November 25, along with alumni and leaders in the healthcare community.
Ted Rogers School’s Health Services Management (HSM) major prepares students to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals who can manage effectively within the complex Canadian healthcare system. It combines the strengths of the Business Management program with specialized courses in healthcare administration in one degree.
Through the program, students will gain a solid foundation in core business areas such as finance, marketing, human resources and global management, while developing expertise in health systems, policy, informatics and service delivery. The program also offers practical, real-world experience through practicum placements. By graduation, students will be equipped with the skills to manage healthcare operations, support policy development and lead organizational change across the healthcare system.
The HSM major is accredited by both the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and the Canadian College of Health Leaders (Canadian Health Information Management Association accredited).
The Ted Rogers School is currently accepting applications for the new HSM major for Fall 2026 intake. It is available full-time, part-time and for direct entry. For more information, please visit the program website.
