Toronto Metropolitan University’s Ted Rogers MBA was one of only four Canadian MBA programs included in the international list’s top tier of more than 30 programs. The magazine said it assessed programs based on the percentage of core courses focused on ethical, social and environmental impact, as well as experiential learning opportunities, university-wide sustainability initiatives, faculty research, delivery methods and accreditation.
“This year’s Green MBA Rankings showcase business schools that are championing sustainable business practices and, in so doing, developing responsible leaders capable of driving meaningful change,” the magazine said.
Cynthia Holmes, Dean of the Ted Rogers School of Management, said the top ranking result is a tribute to the innovative approach to learning embodied by the school’s faculty members.
“The Ted Rogers MBA has been a leader in integrating sustainability into our program because our school is built on three related pillars: Student learning and success, positive impact through scholarly research and local and global collaboration, and connection and community,” Dean Holmes said. “Our faculty members embody those values in everything they do.”
The best evidence of the program’s success in educating and training a new generation of leaders focused on sustainability is the program’s alumni, said Prof. Joseph Aversa, Interim Graduate Program Director of the Master of Business Administration program.
“This recognition from CEO Magazine is testament to our MBA graduates, who are emerging from the program with a vision for how to make sustainability a fundamental part of the innovations they will implement throughout their careers,” Prof. Aversa said.
