General equity reviews

Leveraging our Diversity Assessment Tool (DAT) App, tailored to an organization’s sector and functions, we conduct a comprehensive evaluation of all organizational processes, including leadership and governance practices, human resource and talent, culture and values, metrics and measurement, procurement, marketing, communications, service design and delivery, and partnerships. We review policies, practices and processes to identify strengths, gaps and opportunities for meaningful change. We also use internal and external stakeholder engagement to enhance the initial assessment and capture diverse perspectives and insights.

Examples of our previous work include:

We conducted an environmental scan and review of internal documents. We developed EDIA terms, definitions and a vision statement, including an EDIA framework and implementation plan with an accompanying measurement plan. The review of internal documents included organizational policies, practices and initiatives. The final deliverable included gaps and opportunities for advancing EDIA within the organization.

We leveraged a customized version of the DAT App to assess processes for diversity and inclusion within expert panels and CCA broadly. The assessment established recommendations for embedding diversity and inclusion across the CCA’s Board of Directors, Senior Management Team, Scientific Advisory Committee and Expert Panels.

We conducted a comprehensive review of Paradigm’s Employee Policy Manual and Health & Safety Manual, proposals, hiring practices and marketing materials to offer recommendations for embedding EDI across these processes. This work was coupled with subsequent training to onboard staff to the importance of this work and recommendations for change.

We conducted a comprehensive assessment of the current state of diversity and inclusion within the organization leveraging our DAT App. We assessed current strategies, policies, processes, programs and outreach, and delivered a workshop to review the DAT findings and recommendations. This work culminated in a strategy to address the identified opportunities to advance diversity and inclusion across functions.

We conducted an EDI assessment through a tailored DAT App that reviewed GRH's internal processes and practices with respect to Human Resource Processes and Disabilities Claims Management. We identified potential barriers and gaps found within its internal policies and practices by providing opportunities to address them. This was implemented through recommendations and best practices moving forward to foster and strengthen EDI at the Hospital.

We conducted content analysis using publicly available data to identify and understand the representation of diverse individuals on the FedDev senior executive team. Alongside this, DI completed a comprehensive organizational analysis using the DAT App to identify strengths and opportunities across the 44 FedDev organizations (five superclusters and 39 member organizations). The content analysis and DAT findings were used to curate recommendations to strengthen the representation of diverse groups and develop more programs that support equity-deserving communities.
