Halifax, NS, September 23, 2022 – Halifax-based startups innerlogic (external link, opens in new window)  and TheProgram.ai (external link, opens in new window)  confirmed today they will be presenting at Future or Sport Lab’s Demo Day on September 27, 2022 in Toronto. The sport tech startups will pitch their new technology and respective businesses to more than 75 sport, business and investment leaders from across Canada.  This includes executives from the NHL, CFL, MLS, NBA, Basketball Canada, Scotiabank, Rogers, Bell Media and more.

innerlogic and TheProgram.ai were selected to join FSL earlier this year. The incubator program supported by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) and managed by Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). Applications for FSL came from across the country and include companies from coast to coast. The two East Coast companies, representing 25 per cent of the current cohort, are showing just how much innovation and business talent exists in Atlantic Canada.

Innerlogic

“This is a tremendous opportunity to not only showcase our technology but to represent the East Coast tech community on a national level,” said Bryce Tully, CEO and co-founder of innerlogic.

Innerlogic is an intuitive software that helps sport organizations measure the state of their culture at all levels, ensuring sport environments are not only safe and Inclusive, but also high-performing and aligned. They have been leaned on heavily by the government of Canada, universities and provincial sport bodies in recent months to provide proactive technical solutions to culture measurement and review processes.

TheProgram.ai

“It’s been well publicized that Atlantic Canada has an up-and-coming tech sector, but it’s also quietly becoming a hub for sports technology companies specifically. The success of a few early sports-tech companies in the region has led to the next generation of innovative start-ups in a rapidly evolving industry. We’re thrilled to work with Future of Sport Lab to showcase our innovation,” said Brendon Ferguson, CEO of TheProgram.ai.

TheProgram.ai provides a new vehicle for delivering sports and fitness content to youth in a fun and interactive way to keep them engaged in a healthy lifestyle and create a lifelong relationship with sport and fitness. TheProgram.ai offers this out-of-the-box mobile application to any organization with a primary or secondary goal of engaging kids in sport, allowing them to advance their mission without undertaking the cost and effort associated with developing a custom mobile application.

Future of Sport Lab

"FSL had actually had innerlogic and TheProgram.ai on our radar for some time, given their growing reputation in the sport system space - and were thrilled they were accepted to our program. Their technology couldn't be more timely and needed, given the current wide examination of sport and culture, and as a result, they have seen good early traction since being a part of this cohort," said Dr Cheri L. Bradish, the founding director of the FSL.

“The process to enter the program was rigorous. It included a detailed application, followed by an interview in front of a panel of experts from FSL, MLSE and TMU for final selection,” said Sumit Arora, Vice President, Business & Strategy, MLSE. “Of the approximately 70 applicants, the Halifax companies were selected as two of the eight for this cohort. We were impressed not only by TheProgram.ai & innerlogic’s products but also their breadth of experience in the sports and entertainment industry.”

innerlogic and TheProgram.ai joined FSL in June 2022. The two companies have participated in extensive programming through the Ted Rogers School of Management and the DMZ business incubator. They are now receiving mentorship from various MLSE executives and business leaders.
