George Tasevski, Jacob Newman, Dmitry Zaytsev, and Adrian Parisotto placed second in the inaugural Goodman Good Challenge at Laurentian University

A team of TRSM students made it to the podium at the first-ever Goodman Gold Challenge (external link)  at Laurentian University's Goodman School of Mines in Sudbury, on February 25.

The TRSM team of George Tasevski (3rd year, Finance), Jacob Newman (3rd year, Economics and Finance), Dmitry Zaytsev (5th year, Economics and Finance), and Adrian Parisotto (3rd year, Finance and Marketing) placed second, with a score of 4.7 out of 5.

The first-place team was awarded a score of 4.8 out of 5, and many of the judges approached the TRSM team to inform them that the results were extremely close.

Participants in the three-day competition were challenged to evaluate the investment potential of three gold companies currently trading on the TSX or TSX-V and recommend a single company for the portfolio of their top-tier clients.

There were two rounds of  presentations and seven teams competing from other leading North American universities, including Bishop's University, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, and the University of Kentucky.

All members of the TRSM team are members of the Ryerson Investment Group (RIG) (external link) , where they say they have gained experience in stock pitches and market research on various sectors, helping them prepare for the competition.

Congratulations to the TRSM team!
