Shauna Rempel is a social media strategist, professional communicator and journalism educator.
At the University of Toronto, Shauna oversees high-priority projects on the Mississauga campus. She's also served as managing editor and senior social media strategist.
Prior to her pivot to higher ed communications, she worked for 15 years in Canadian newsrooms. Managing three cross-functional teams, Shauna was the national point person for editing and distributing content on the Global News and Corus Radio network.
Previously she was a supervising editor at the Toronto Star. There she led social media strategy, worked on several award-winning projects and ran training & development initiatives.
Shauna started teaching at TMU in 2013 and has also taught digital journalism at Centennial College and University of Guelph-Humber.
