Sexual Assault: Suspect Arrested
Incident details
A TMU community member reported to TMU Security that an individual followed them into a TMU building while making inappropriate comments. The community member reported the incident to TMU Security and the individual fled the area.
Shortly after, another TMU community member reported to TMU Security that an individual grabbed their shoulder without consent in a sexual context. The community member was able to break away and notify TMU Security. Security responded immediately and arrested the individual, who was subsequently confirmed to be the same individual who approached the first community member. Toronto Police Service was notified, arrested the individual and charged them with sexual assault.
Update: On March 4, 2024, the Toronto Police Service issued a news release to the general community and indicated they believe there may be more victims. The individual was described as male, with a light complexion, is 31 years old and approximately 170 (5’7”). They had short brown hair.
