For the student deemed to have produced the best investigative piece in their third-year of study.
The Evening Star was created almost overnight in November 1892 by 21 printers and four teenage apprentices who were locked out during a labour dispute at the afternoon News. That first four-page sheet would eventually grow into what is now Canada’s largest daily newspaper, the Toronto Star.
