Trans Awareness Month

November is Trans Awareness Month
Throughout the month, university community members are invited to participate in advocacy and educational events that celebrate, honour and raise the visibility of the trans community. We also honour the memory of trans people whose live were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence on November 20 for Trans Day of Remembrace.
About the trans flag
The widely-recognized trans flag uses traditionally gendered colours to both skew and represent gender. The blue and pink are a reference to the traditional binary, while the white stripe represents the gender-diverse, gender fluid, non-binary and transitional spaces between feminine and masculine identities, in effect a prism of colours blending together.
