Research, Planning and Assessment is one of the units that make up the Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion (OVPECI). Led by Tamar Myers, this unit oversees TMU’s employee and student diversity self-id surveys, and reporting on recruitment, representation and retention of students, staff and faculty from the university’s five equity seeking groups: women; racialized people; Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities and 2SLGBTQ+ people.

What we do

The Research, Planning and Assessment unit supports the TMU’s equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives through:

  • the collection, analysis and reporting of TMU diversity data
  • tracking progress on advancing equity, diversity and inclusion at TMU
  • coordinating the development of OVPECI plans, projects, tools, initiatives and proposals
  • researching and sharing best practices in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion at TMU and within the university sector in Canada
