Positive Space is hosting the kickoff for Trans Awareness Month, to launch a month of programs, action, and community events at Toronto Metropolitan University. Remarks will be shared by Dr. Art Blake (Professor, Department of History; and Dimensions Director), Dr. Anver Saloojee (Interim Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion), Dr. Pamela Sugiman (Dean, Faculty of Arts) and others. All community members are encouraged to join.

This is an on-campus event. While not required by the return to campus policy, attendees wearing a face mask and keeping physical distance are welcome and will be accommodated. If you are feeling unwell or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you please stay home.

November is Trans Awareness Month

Throughout the month, university community members are invited to participate in advocacy and educational events that celebrate, honour and raise the visibility of the trans community. We also honour the memory of trans people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence on November 20 for Trans Day of Remembrance.

Programming organized by the Positive Space Faculty and Staff Network

The Positive Space Faculty and Staff Network is a volunteer staff and faculty community network for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions at the university. Positive Space is committed to creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
