About Chef Johl Whiteduck Ringuette

Chef Johl's journey of Indigenous food sovereignty has led him to founding non-profit agencies in the GTA:

  • the Ojibiikaan Indigenous Cultural Network (OICN) that creates and supports their Indigenous teaching gardens,
  • the Toronto Indigenous Business Association (TIBA), and
  • the first Indigenous Harvesters and Artisans Market (IHM) that celebrates annually at the Bickford Centre along with Red Urban Nations Artists Collective (RUN) that creates and installs massive Indigenous murals also at the Bickford Centre and supports emerging Indigenous artists.
