When we hear a remark that is biased, stereotypical or a microaggression, we're often unsure what to say. Join the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) to improve your skills speaking up against harmful attitudes and biased statements, as well as interrupting inappropriate comments.

Participants will gain hands-on practice speaking up when they hear a derogatory comment or see other inappropriate behaviours. This will include six practical approaches that can be applied immediately at Ryerson. Attendees will leave feeling confident in their ability to say "OUCH! That stereotype hurts!"

  • This event is moderated by Denise O’Neil Green, Vice-President Equity, and Community Inclusion.
