Drop-in Hours

Do you have a quick immigration question or are looking for some guidance? Join our drop-in hours to ask our staff your questions! Most of our drop-in hours are hybrid, meaning you can join us on Zoom on the links below, or in-person at the ISS Office, located at POD 50A.

Please make sure that you are logged into your Zoom (external link)  account in order to access the sessions if you are joining virtually.

Note: Action Plan Advising is only available on a drop-in basis on Tuesday mornings. If this time does not work for you, please email your questions to issask@torontomu.ca and the ISRF will get back to you within three business days.

We offer several types of appointments here at ISS. Open the title below to learn more about each one and decide which type is best for you!

ISS Mandatory Welcome Appointments (January 5, 2026 - February 6, 2026)

ISS is here to support you as you transition into your new academic environment. You are assigned an advisor based on your faculty, and they are here to guide you through your journey at TMU. These meetings will be held online or in-person, in groups of four, and will provide you with resources to reach your personal, academic and professional goals.

Book your Mandatory Welcome Appointment by completing the Winter 2026 ISS Mandatory Welcome Appointment Form (external link)   (Welcome Appointment Booking Guideline (external link) ) and telling us about yourself. You’ll receive a confirmation email after completing the form with the necessary meeting link. We look forward to meeting you!

Please stop by the ISS office (POD 50A across from OneCard office either on Monday or Friday) to spin the “Wings Up Welcome Wheel” to win a TMU-themed prize! Make sure to come  before February 6th, 2026 as prizes are limited!

We look forward to meeting you soon!

If you have questions, please contact us at issask@torontomu.ca.

The International Student Support team

Book a 30 minute appointment with an International Student Advisor to discuss immigration inquiries or transition support. For quick questions that do not require an appointment, feel free to join the drop-in hours instead.

What is Action Plan Advising?

This four-part advising series involves 30 minute, 1on1 appointments with the International Student Retention Facilitator (ISRF) to discover and discuss your goals for your time here at TMU and your hopes for the future beyond your studies. By the end of the series, you will have co-created an Action Plan that leads you from where you are now to where you want to be, with consideration for potential challenges and information on available resources to help navigate them. This living document is meant to be modified as you progress through your TMU journey, which is why the ISRF recommends you check-in at least once per semester after completing the series.

To book an appointment to discuss immigration inquiries or transition support, please click on our appointment booking system (external link)  link.

If you have previously booked an appointment with the Career & Co-op Centre, you will already have an account that you can use as this is the same appointment booking software. In this case, you would not need to create a new account.

If you are new to the appointment booking system, you will need to create an account. Please follow these steps to create an account:

  1. Visit the login page for our appointment booking system (external link) .
  2. Click on “Sign Up”.
  3. Complete the registration form (be sure to use your @torontomu.ca email address).
  4. The system will send you an email. Please check all of your email folders and spam for the link. Then, follow the link to reset your password.
  5. Log in, and search for an appointment by clicking the “ISS” tab and then on the “Book New Appointment” button.

Tip: Make sure you include “@torontomu.ca” at the end of your log-in name!

Please send a screenshot and explain any issue you are experiencing to issask@torontomu.ca. We will do our best to troubleshoot with you.
