In commemoration of a milestone anniversary, the theme of this year’s Viola Desmond Awards Ceremony is legacy. The Awards will recognize the self-determination, resistance, leadership, joy and legacies of Black women across generations.

The Viola Desmond Awards and Bursary Ceremony celebrates the outstanding achievements of Black women who in their roles as students, staff, faculty and alumna, demonstrate that they are positive role models and advocates of the Black/African-Canadian community.

Join us ahead of International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination as we pay tribute to Viola Desmond and the accomplishments of incredible Black women who uphold her legacy.

The awards ceremony is a black tie event. Attendees are encouraged to dress in clothing that makes them feel their best.

ASL interpretation will be provided
