Zohreh Hassannezhad (she/her)

Senior Research Associate

 Zohreh is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Diversity Institute, where she uses insights from gender and diversity theories to reveal barriers and opportunities that are associated with women and immigrants entrepreneurship development. She has recently published a paper with Professor Cukier, about the case study of Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH) in Canada. Zohreh is currently preparing several manuscripts describing the pathway toward a more inclusive innovation ecosystem in Canada, the exploration of women and underrepresented groups’ barriers in entrepreneurial activities, and the application of a critical ecological lens to address existing issues in entrepreneurial ecosystem. In her PhD dissertation, she primarily focused on the cognitive psychology of entrepreneurs. For her thesis, she could (1) develop a model of entrepreneurial alertness reinforcement, (2) develop a new scale for measuring cognitive aspects of entrepreneurial alertness, (3) conduct a comprehensive literature review on entrepreneurial alertness, and (4) explore the effect of mindfulness on entrepreneurial alertness.
