Ted Rogers Undergraduate Sales Team celebrates awards at sales competition

Congratulations to the Ted Rogers Undergraduate Sales Team for returning once again from the Northeast Intercollegiate Sales Competition as multiple-award recipients.

The team of seven students was the only Canadian team out of 28 American universities to compete and placed 1st Runner-Up for “Top School” overall. They came in first place last year in the team’s debut at the competition.

“I’m extremely proud of all seven students who contributed to the success achieved in this competition,” said Dr. Karen Peesker, Director of the Ted Rogers Sales Leadership Program, “the team rallied together to motivate, coach and support each other to another historic winning year.”

The team from the Ted Rogers School of Management came in second to Kansas State University, which has one of the top sales programs in the world. TRSM only launched their sales program last year, so the result against much more seasoned, experienced competition is especially impressive.

Camilla Racco dominated the competition by finishing 3rd overall in the Individual Case Competition. Eric Muellejans placed 4th runner-up overall in the speed selling challenge, competing against over 200 students.

Muellejans and Vinh-Son Hoang also stepped out of their comfort zone to compete in the global languages speed selling competition, in French and Chinese respectively.

“It was an excellent representation of one of Ryerson’s most important values, diversity,” said Peesker.

Stanley Sik also had an outstanding showing, placing in the Top 20 students for the Individual Case Competition, which helped enable the team to win 1st Runner-Up for the entire competition.

A very special thank you is also extended to the team’s sponsor and supporters, DHL Canada.

“The Ryerson University team comes home with an outstanding accomplishment in representing not only the Ted Rogers Sales Leadership Program, but representing Canada in this competitive landscape,” said Peesker.
