Financial Assistance, Awards & Scholarships

Computer Science students that recieved awards.

The cost of a full-time, post-secondary education is a significant investment. Toronto Metropolitan University's Student Financial Assistance (SFA) office is your portal to the various financial assistance programs available.

Student Loans

The government provides OSAP for Ontario students. Other forms of government student aid exist for out-of-province and U.S. students. Requirements change from year to year, so check the SFA office each year for details.

Bursaries

If you experience a sudden and unexpected financial need, and have exhausted all income sources, you may qualify for a one-time bursary for emergency assistance.

Student Access Guarantee (SAG)

The SAG bursary helps meet any shortfall in covering the full assessed need for tuition, textbooks, and certain fees and supplies. If you're currently receiving OSAP and need further assistance, you may qualify for the SAG.

Scholarships & Awards

Search the AwardSpring portal (external link)  to search for scholarships and awards open to all Toronto Metropolitan students, or to those in the Faculty of Science or only to Computer Science students. Awards also exist for extracurricular achievement.

Special Activities Funding

As a Science student, special projects or events can enrich your program, but may require extra expense. Both the Faculty of Science Special Projects Grant, and the Undergraduate Science Society of Toronto Metropolitan (external link)  may provide funding for individual students and groups.

Employment Opportunities

Toronto Metropolitan's Career & Co-op Centre provides guidance on where and how you can search for a paid job on- or off-campus.
