Lecture Title:

Everything is Architecture

Description:

LGA practices architecture within an expanded and relational field, where projects are shaped as much by social and urban dynamics as by form and material. Working across diverse typologies and scales, the firm is committed to city building and public impact. Janna Levitt will present projects that explore the creative potential of working at the edges of conventional practice.

Projects Included:

  1. Ulster House: Ulster House, Toronto’s first multiplex condominium, exemplifies gentle density, market affordability, thoughtful design, and environmental responsibility.
  2. ReHousing: A non-profit focusing on housing creation through applied research, consultation and education.
  3. The Belle & MabellePARK: Years of community engagement, resulted in a community pavilion that stands model for social and cultural innovation in a Toronto neighbourhood of dense vertical housing, home to a highly diverse community of newcomers.
  4. The National Housing Design Catalogue: A national project that offers over 50 regionally tailored, standardized designs. It includes accessory dwelling units, townhouses, rowhouses and multiplexes to help Canadians build more homes, faster.
