Yonge Street Installations Design Inhale, Exhale & Traverse
Have you had the chance to walk down Yonge St. this summer? If so, you've probably seen Inhale Exhale and Traverse, installations designed and made by DAS students nestled on the edge of the Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto. The installations will be on display until October 2nd, 2023 at 220 Yonge Street. Both installations were made with support from the Downtown Yonge BIA and Cadillac Fairview Eaton Centre.

The Inhale Exhale installation is designed to provide a moment of respite and mindfulness for individuals passing through the busy city streets. Its purpose is to offer a brief escape from the hustle and bustle, allowing people to focus on the present moment and slow down.

The Traverse installation in Toronto is a celebration of the city's cultural diversity and aims to showcase its various neighbourhoods and landmarks. The installation features acrylic panels as the central material, with a focus on layering and transparency. The concept of visually transversal imagery emerged, resulting in a sideways deconstruction of Toronto's neighbourhoods, reminiscent of a map.
