Cookies with the Chair

Every Wednesday, an Ask-Me-Anything with cookies and coffee.
February 12, 2020

I’m the newish Chair of the Computer Science Department, and I’d like to improve interactions between students at all levels and within the Department.

What is “Cookies with the Chair”? Think of it as an in-person AMA (Ask Me Anything), with cookies and coffee.  Some topics for discusiion might be:

  • What is the future of computers?
  • The future of the job market and or research?
  • How to become a better programmer?
  • Why you have to take certain courses?
  • The importance of diversity in CS?
  • What’s The Singularity, … anything?

I certainly don’t know everything, but I do know some things, and I love to talk and listen. What I don’t know, I’ll try to point you at the right direction, or get an answer. And I might ask you questions too.

From 14:30-16:00, every Wednesday, via video conference (external link)  until the end of term. I’ll be there and other faculty may show up from time to time.

Drop by, share experiences and ask me questions. Enjoy a cookie and relax for a few minutes.

Undergrads, grads, post-docs, faculty - all welcome!
