Garden Grab Bags

The Garden Grab Bags have now finished for 2022. They will be available again starting late spring 2023.

Interested in incorporating fresh produce from the Toronto Metropolitan Urban Farm into your next meal? Students, faculty, staff and members of the public may purchase a Garden Grab Bag from the Urban Farm. Farm to table is closer than you think!

Available for purchase weekly until October, each Garden Grab Bag includes a pre-packaged surprise assortment of seasonal, spray-free produce.

What you’ll find in your Garden Grab Bag

Harvested on the same day you receive your order, the contents of our Garden Grab Bags will change week to week to reflect what produce is currently in season. 

Garden Grab Bags include enough fresh produce to feed approximately 1-2 people for one week. Contents of our weekly Garden Grab Bags will be shared on our Instagram feed, external link closer to our weekly delivery dates.

Pricing

Garden Grab Bags retail for $30 for Toronto Metropolitan faculty, staff and community members, while students may take advantage of a $20 student rate.

Instructions for purchasing a Garden Grab Bag

Garden Grab Bags are available for purchase on Fridays at 12 p.m. Garden Grab Bags may be picked up between 12. p.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays via our curbside pick-up program.

Arrange for curbside pick-up

Curbside pick-up is available on Wednesdays between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. from the main entrance of the George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre (ENG) at 245 Church St. 

When you arrive at the main entrance doors of the ENG building along Church St., please remain outside the entrance doors and call the Urban Farm at 437-216-8921 to inform a member of our staff that you’ve arrived. A member of our staff will then exit the building and give you your Garden Grab Bag.

Community members who do not pick-up their Garden Grab Bag during our curbside pick-up windows will not be refunded and your bag will be donated via the Second Harvest Food Rescue app, external link on your behalf. Please note that all Garden Grab Bags must be picked up on Wednesdays during our curbside pick-up window as we are unable to store your bag overnight.
