Summer Open Farm at the DCC

The Urban Farm invites you to spend your Wednesday lunch break taking in the sun and breathtaking views of the city at our rooftop farm, located on the 8th floor of the Daphne Cockwell Health Sciences Complex (DCC)! Now with shaded seating to help keep the rooftop cool and comfortable on those really hot summer days.

What to expect

Each summer, the Urban Farm at TMU provides students, faculty and staff free access to the DCC rooftop farm. Bring your lunch and relax amid Toronto’s first purpose-built rooftop farm dedicated to Black food sovereignty and Indigenous food sovereignty initiatives.

In partnership with our friends at TMU Eats, a limited number of delicious harvest bowls are available for purchase while you visit. The vegetables featured in these hearty bowls are grown right here on campus on the ENG and DCC rooftop farms! You can also purchase fresh, rooftop-grown produce, cut flowers, or a glass of homemade iced tea.

Want to learn more about TMU’s Urban Farm? Visitors also have the opportunity to cross the street and tour George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre (ENG) rooftop every Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.
